About the 'Save the Medallions' Campaign
Hi everyone! First of all, I want to thank my former student Cynthia Rios for carrying the torch in my absence. Our “Save the Medallions” petition is up to 724 signatures and much of it due to her tireless work.
As I hope you know, I’ve been on a road trip, posting short reports from my stops at many Hispanic heritage sites. And although I’m back home now, in time for my fall semester class which begins Aug. 25, I’ll still be reporting on many more of the historic sites I visited. But I’m also back to join Cynthia and those of you who want to see our homelands’ medallions restored on NYC’s Avenue of the Americas. There is a lot of work to do, and Cynthia and I cannot do it by ourselves. We need your help! For now all we ask is very little: If you have not signed the petition, please sign it. If you have already signed, please get your friends to sign it. Better yet, record a short selfie video telling us why you think we must “Save the Medallions,” like this one by Dominic Gajar: Mil gracias! Miguel Pérez |
